New Expanded Panama Canal

Nigeria Internet Hits 97 Million
According to figures released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the number of internet users on Nigeria’s telecoms networks has hit 97.21 million in September, 2015. Click the link for more information about Nigeria ICT data.
New Facebook Data Center
Facebook has anounced on January 24, 2016 that they will build a new data center in Europe. It will be located at Clonee, County Meath, Ireland and it will use cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most advanced, efficient and sustainable data centers in the world.
As Facebook subscribers and world-wide traffic grows, its data center requirements are growing along with it.
Wikipedia’s Birthday
On January 15, 2016 the Wikipedia celebrates fifteen years of existance. The great mayority of Internet users use this excellent information source, available in over 42 languages, as the starting point for their online research. The English Wikipedia today has more than 5,057,447 articles for free online viewing.
Kenya Internet Users 2015
With Kenya update, Internet penetration in Africa has reached 28.6%, with 330,965,359 estimated users currently. View the Africa regional page, where you can also see the latest number of Facebook subscribers by country.
Vietnam with 47.3 Million Internet Users
More than 47.3 million people now have Internet access in October 2015 in Vietnam. This includes

Africa Internet Population 2015
The Population and stats for Africa have been updated. Check them out at Africa Internet Population. The tables give all the estimates and the graphs help us understand the stats.
For example, the 2015 Q2 Internet Penetration in Africa Graph shows that the average Internet penetration for Africa is 27%, and 48.5% in the rest of the world, not including Africa. Great progress has been made in recent years and the number of Internet users is increasing greatly.
2015 Q2 India Internet Users
According to the report published by the Internet And Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the Internet users in India have grown 17% in the initial 6 months of this year, adding 52 million new users, and reaching 354 million users for June 30, 2015.
This extraordinary increase originates in the number of the mobile Internet users who grew from 173 million in December 2014 to 213 million users as of end of June 2014. Nearly 128 million mobile internet users belonged to the urban population of India, the rest 45 million reside in rural areas of the country, according to IAMAI.

Internet Users in China Continue to Increase
The number of Internet users in China continues to grow, according to the China Internet Network Information Center. For June 30, 2015 there were 668 million Internet users in China. The report states that nearly 49 percent of China’s population goes online.
The report also says that the number of female Internet users has also increased. Out of every 100 Internet users, 55 are men and 45 are women.
About 89 percent of China’s Internet users get their online access through mobile devices—an increase of more than 3 percent from six months ago. More than 85 percent of the users have opted for faster options such as 3G and 4G networks.
The average amount of time Internet users spends online every week is 25 hours and 36 minutes, 30 minutes less compared to six months ago.
The report also says that 91 percent of Internet users have used at least one online chat application, 56 percent of all users have shopped online, and 54 percent made online payments in the first half of 2015. For more data on China, click here.
